Problem: manual recipe adjustments slow clinical workflows

Clinicians often need to modify recipes for children with medical dietary restrictions such as celiac disease, diabetes, and inflammatory bowel disease. These adjustments require careful ingredient substitutions and step changes while preserving nutritional integrity.

Before implementing an AI healthcare platform, clinicians relied on manual review of recipes and dietary guidelines. This process took time, increased workload, and made consistent compliance harder to maintain at scale. Heartful Sprouts needed a secure and scalable AI healthcare platform that could automate recipe modifications while keeping database ingredient IDs intact for future nutritional calculations.

Solution: an AI healthcare platform

GoML designed and developed a PoC AI healthcare platform using GoML’s Agentic AI boilerplate. The platform includes an AI-powered recipe modification engine that enables clinicians to request recipe changes in natural language and receive medically aligned recipe updates.

This AI healthcare platform combines LLM-based contextual reasoning, medical dietary knowledge integration, and secure database connectivity to automate ingredient substitutions while preserving clinical accuracy and ingredient ID integrity.

Natural language recipe modification

Clinicians interact with the AI healthcare platform by asking questions such as:

“Modify this oat bran muffin recipe for celiac disease.”

The system interprets dietary intent, identifies restricted ingredients, and generates a compliant updated recipe.

Medical dietary knowledge integration

The AI healthcare platform ingests clinical “do’s and don’ts” documents for conditions including:

Heartful Sprouts maintains a PostgreSQL ingredient database with over 3,000 ingredient entries and FDC IDs.
