SAP AI Agents for ECC and S/4HANA

GoML builds SAP AI agents that read your data and automate the work with human approval. They work on SAP-endorsed routes, from analysis to decision to action.

Trusted AI systems partner for startups to enterprise leaders

SAP is a complex environment for AI agents

Getting AI agents into production depends on SAP's cumbersome API rules, licensing, and data pipelines that are not built for AI.

Agent paths

SAP's API policy limits autonomous call sequences and needs explicit integration paths.

SAP Joule maturity

SAP Joule is untested and lags proven agentic approaches in maturity and capability.

Access restrictions

SAP is deployed in diverse ways and your deployment decides what is possible.

Licensing for writes

Creating document items is metered, and agents will need additional Digital Access licensing.

Data readiness

Keys differ across systems and nothing reconciles. Retries can be slow and expensive.

GoML's proven approach to SAP AI agent development

GoML builds agents with proven architectures using our AI Matic platform. Every automated agentic workflow we build on SAP includes an agent and a control plane.

The agent runtime

The orchestrator and the domain agents that read your systems, choose the next step, and perform the work. With custom MCP tool contracts and steering rules.

  • ReadsECC, S/4HANA, CRM, email, documents
  • Decidesone permitted next step
  • Toolsread tools are open; writes are restricted
  • Modelsright-fit based on task and tokens
  • Groundinga governed data layer underneath

The control plane

This is the system that assures that the agent is operating within defined guardrails on a system of record. Includes evaluations and tests against your ledger.

  • Approvala queue with human owners
  • Allowlisttools outside it are blocked
  • Auditevery agent action is recorded
  • Evalsa golden set to gate releases

Top 4 AI agent use cases for SAP business workflows

Legacy SAP ERP implementations leave gaps that cost millions of dollars. Based on our expertise, here are the CFO, CIO, COO areas where AI agents offer the highest RoI.

Finance and close [CFO, CRO]

Invoice exceptions, close-pack preparation and margin explanation. Ties back to your ledger.

Procure to pay [COO, CFO]

Purchase order exceptions, supplier delay triage and master-data quality across your vendor base.

Order to cash and supply [COO, CPO]

Order exceptions, shortage and delay triage, quality notifications and stock movement checks.

Master data and migration [CDO, CIO]

Dual-source reconciliation, migration scouting, and a monitoring system for agents.

Illustrating an end to end SAP AI agent flow

We have illustrated a blocked invoice. The agent gathers the data an analyst would gather, proposes a resolution, and waits for an approval before touching your system of record.

SAP Joule agents or custom agents?

SAP Joule agents are new, most are still reaching general availability, and they reach only the data in SAP. Custom agent development covers the entire enterprise estate and offers substantially greater automation opportunities.

SAP Joule agents

  • Within SAPstrong on processes that never leave SAP
  • Reachdoes not span other enterprise systems
  • Maturitymost agents are still reaching general availability
  • Costset by SAP, with 2027 terms unpublished
  • On ECCneeds a full-fledged cloud journey

Custom agents from GoML

  • Within SAPcalls Joule as a tool, if required by design
  • ReachSAP, CRM, email, documents and other systems
  • Maturityarchitectures provev over 150+ AI system builds
  • Costmeasurable by agent and task, in your own environment

Accelerate your SAP agent development with GoML

GoML builds agent systems across industries, model providers, and tech stacks. We bring that expertise to your SAP implementation. Every build starts on AI Matic, the platform our engineers use to build a production-ready foundation for your AI system.

1,100+AI agents built
65+models used in production

Proven blueprints

Six blueprints cover the common enterprise use cases. Your SAP agents start from proven agentic workflow blueprints rather than an empty repository.

About 80% of the stack is pre-built

Ingestion, retrieval, the model gateway, guardrails and evaluations come ready, which puts the engineering effort into your SAP environment and data.

No model lock-in

A model gateway abstracts the model provider, letting your agents move to better-fit models with plug and play configurability.

The SAP agent implementation path

Every engagement begins with an assessment to forensically analyze your data and tech stack. We then build your first agent, with clearly-defined routes and write tools.

Estate review and readiness

A workshop on your modules and the workflows that offer the highest RoI, a scan of the estate you have, and a ranked agent backlog.

You get a readiness scorecard, a connection plan per source, and a written position on the API policy for your deployment.

First agent live

One agent in daily use on a governed data layer, reading and drafting, measured against the agreed baseline.

You get a working agent, its evaluation set, and the means to build and test it.

Write tools and more agents

Further agents on the same layer and the same assets. Write tools open one agent at a time, after SAP's position on the route is confirmed.

You get agents acting under an approval queue, with every action logged and reversible.

Operate and keep current

Monitoring, evaluation and model cost tuning, with a regression suite on every SAP release to catch failures.

You get a monthly review against the baseline, and a change request whenever SAP pushes changes and updates.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about custom AI agents for SAP, the rules they must follow, and who stays in control of what they do.

Which SAP systems do the agents work with?

ECC 6.0, S/4HANA on-premise, S/4HANA private cloud under RISE and S/4HANA public cloud under GROW. SAP S/4HANA AI agents and agents on ECC share the same design, since both read business entities rather than raw tables.

Does this stay within SAP's API policy?

Yes. Agents reach SAP through Published APIs and endorsed routes, and the first release of every agent reads and drafts. We write our position on your deployment into the assessment, and we recommend your own counsel reads it against your contract.

Can the agents write into SAP?

Yes, one agent at a time and only after a gate. A person approves the action, it goes through a Published API, and the approval is kept in the audit record. Creating documents can carry Digital Access licensing, which we size before the write path opens.

How is this different from SAP Joule agents?

Joule agents work well on processes that stay within SAP, and SAP AI agent integration over A2A and the MCP Gateway lets GoML call them as tools where they are the better route. Custom agents are great for work that crosses SAP, your CRM, email and documents.

Who approves what an agent does?

You name an owner per agent and per exception queue. Tools outside the agent's allowlist are blocked rather than attempted, and the owner sees the draft, its evidence and its probability before anything is changed in SAP.

What happens when SAP changes an API or we convert to S/4HANA?

A regression suite covers every SAP release to ensure agent function does not break. Agents will read business entities instead of table names.

How long before the first agent is live?

The assessment takes three weeks and we provide an estimate for the first agent based on what we see and identify with you. Our time-to-first-version on AI agent builds is 21 days.
