OpenAI has introduced GPT-6.1 Sol, an upgrade to GPT-6 Sol designed to bring near-Astra intelligence to lower-cost AI workloads.
The model improves coding, professional work, computer use, scientific research and factual accuracy. On DeepSWE v1.1, it matches GPT-6 Astra at roughly one-fifth of the cost, while its factual error rate falls from 11.4% with GPT-6 Sol to 7.7% at low reasoning effort.
API pricing starts at $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens, with cached input at $0.10. GPT-6.1 Sol is available through ChatGPT Work, Codex and the OpenAI API.
