AWS has released Pizza Bot, an open-source application designed to move long-running AI agent work away from continuous chat sessions. Users can start tasks manually, schedule them, or trigger them through webhooks while agents continue working in the background.
Completed tasks appear in an Unread queue, while workflows requiring human decisions move to an Action queue. Pizza Bot is self-hosted, supports multiple model providers including Anthropic, Amazon Bedrock, Google Gemini, OpenAI, OpenRouter, and local models through Ollama.
It also supports Model Context Protocol servers and Agent Skills for connecting tools and specialized workers. Pizza Bot is an Apache 2.0 community project.
