Anthropic has introduced Claude Sonnet 5.5, the second model in its Claude 5.5 family, targeting everyday coding, knowledge work and document creation.
The model generates outputs more than 30% faster than Sonnet 5 and costs up to 30% less per task while retaining the same token pricing.
Sonnet 5.5 scores 70.6% on Terminal-Bench 4.0, 80.1% on OSWorld 2.1 and 64.5% on Humanity’s Last Exam with tools. Anthropic also reports improvements in long-horizon work, image understanding and collaboration. The model introduces stronger cybersecurity safeguards while retaining Sonnet 5’s existing biology protections for high-risk requests.
