AWS has expanded Amazon Bedrock with two updates focused on production AI agents. Bedrock Managed Agents, powered by OpenAI, is now in preview, providing a managed environment that combines OpenAI’s agent harness with memory, skills, identity, security and compute.
Alongside it, GPT-6.1 Sol is generally available on Amazon Bedrock, bringing near-Astra performance to agentic coding, computer use and professional workflows at lower cost.
Managed Agents uses AgentCore as its default compute environment, while GPT-6.1 Sol supports prompt caching for workloads that repeatedly reuse context. Together, the releases provide infrastructure and model intelligence for building long-running, governed enterprise agents.
